Course Overview
This training provides essential awareness for understanding the risks, responsibilities, and safe working practices associated with managing health and safety in the workplace. The course is designed to help participants understand how health and safety management forms part of overall workplace management, and how effective safety management behaviours can help prevent incidents, injuries, ill health, and harm to employees and others affected by the work.
Participants will gain awareness of employer and employee responsibilities, risk assessment, safety statements, hazard identification, accident prevention, and the importance of following company procedures when managing health and safety on behalf of the organisation.

What is Health & Safety Management? Understanding what is meant by health and safety management, including the systematic approach to identifying, assessing, and controlling workplace risks, the role of policies and procedures, and how safety management integrates into day-to-day business operations.
Legal and Safety Responsibilities Overview of relevant workplace safety responsibilities under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and associated regulations, including the need for safe systems of work, competent persons, risk assessments, safety statements, and compliance with Health and Safety Authority (HSA) requirements.
Employer and Employee Duties Understanding the responsibilities of employers, managers, supervisors, and employees in managing health and safety risks, including cooperation, consultation, reporting concerns, and following company policies and procedures.
